EFT Greek Network

is a Psychologist, Systemic Group and Family Psychotherapist, and an Internationally Certified Couple Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer (ICEEFT), specialized in Attachment and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

She is the Founder and Director of the EFT Greek Network and holds a long-standing position on the Scientific Council and Faculty at the Athenian Institute of Anthropos – the first center to practice family therapy in Europe. For several years now, she trains and supervises professionals in Couple and Family Therapy throughout Greece and Europe.

Kyriaki is Past President of the European Family Therapy Association – EFTA (2010- 2013) and a member of the Association since its early founding. She has played a major role in the networking and mutual learning of Family Therapy Trainers in Europe, and in 2016 was appointed Honorary President of the EFTA Chamber of Training Institutes (EFTA-TIC).

Kyriaki is a Member of the American Family Therapy Academy (AFTA). Former Vice-President of the national branch of the European Association of Psychotherapists (E.A.P.). Founding Member of the Hellenic Association of Systemic Therapy (ELESYTH).
Founding Member of the American National Registry of Certified Group Psychotherapists (C.G.P.) and a Clinical Member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association (A.G.P.A.).
Kyriaki is Joint Editor of “Human Systems”, a long established multidisciplinary European Journal of Systemic Practice.

Areas of specialization:

• Sociocultural change influencing couples and family functioning, particularly as related to the couple relationship and to the woman’s role.
• Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and Families (EFT – EFFT)
• Understanding intergenerationally transmitted patterns of attachment echoed in partners’ inner voices as a means for facilitating bonding in the couple/family.

Anastasia Vlachogeorgaki was born and raised in Athens.

She is a Sociologist, a Group and Family Psychotherapist, and a certified EFT therapist and supervisor (ICEEFT).

She studied Sociology at Panteion University and Business Administration at the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki.

She worked for nearly 30 years at the Therapy Centre for Dependent Individuals (KETHEA), holding leadership roles in treatment programs for people with addictions and their families. She is currently in private practice in Chalandri, working with individuals, couples, and groups.

She trained at the Athenian Institute of Anthropos (AIA) in the Systemic Approach, Group Process, and Family Therapy. At the Centre for Systemic Therapy, she was introduced to Couples Therapy.

She is a member of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA) and the Hellenic Society for Systemic Therapy (ELESYTH).

She is a Certified Addiction Counsellor from the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC & RC), having completed postgraduate training in Addiction through a KETHEA program in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego. She also completed postgraduate training at the National School of Public Health in partnership with Boston College on “Management and Social Planning in the Field of Addiction.”

She is a founding member of the Hellenic Network for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals, couples, and families.

She was trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and is one of the foundation members of the Greek Network in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT-Greece).

Alexandra Dimitriadou is a Clinical and Educational psychologist and a Certified Family Therapist. She is one of the five members professional group that co-founded the EFT Greek Network in 2012, along with Kyriaki Polychroni, ICEEFT Certified EFT Trainer. Since that she has participated actively in all the events of the Network.

She had her Masters in Educational Psychology at the University of Athens.

Trained in Systemic Family Therapy at the Athenian Institute of Anthropos in Greece, the first centre to practice family therapy in Europe. She is trained in the administration of psychometric tools to assess intelligence and personality (WISC, WAIS, T.A.T, RORSHACH).

Alexandra conducts a psychological assessment with children as a member of the junior scientific group of the Athenian Institute of Anthropos. She was involved in the restoration of learning disabilities and education for children with developmental disorders and learning disabilities and counselling their families. She participated in the program “Emotional Education” Athens University, training students and teachers of primary schools in Athens.

Alexandra conducted groups with parents in the Parents Advisory I.DE.KE Program (Continuing Education Adult Training Institute). She worked in the organisation and implementation of prevention programs in the family and the educational community (Prevention and Health Education Center N.Samou). Since 2008 she works as a psychologist at the National Institution for Child Protection in the field of foster and adoptive family care.

Alexandra Dimitriadou as part of her cooperation with the Athenian Institute of Anthropos participates in creating and developing the EFT Greek network.

Ioanna Koukou is a Registered Marriage and Family Psychotherapist and since October 2016 she is certified EFT Therapist. She is one of the five members professional group that co-founded the EFT Greek Network in 2012, along with Kyriaki Polychroni, ICEEFT Certified EFT Trainer. Since then she has contributed to all training events of the Network.

She initially studied sociology receiving an M.A. in Criminology and then went on to obtain an M.Med. Sc. in Social Psychiatry from the Medical School of Ioannina in Greece.

Ms Koukou trained in systemic group and family psychotherapy, initially at the Laboratory for the Study of Human Relations (LSHR) and then at the Athenian Institute of Anthropos (AIA).

She is a Certified Psychotherapist by the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP). She is a member of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA), Member of the Greek Association of Systemic Psychotherapy (EL.E.SY.TH.)

In 1995, with her husband, George Bardanis, Psychiatrist-Psychotherapist, Ioanna Koukou co-created the Psychotherapeutic Centre for Human Development (ANELIXI), where she works to date, providing therapy to individuals, couples and families.

In her earlier years of professional development, she focused her work in the domain of drug addiction and dependency treatment, based on the principles of the Therapeutic Community Model.

She is a Certified Consultant for Drug addiction (International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium – IC & RC) and a Member of ITACA – the European Association of Specialists in Drug Addiction, where she has served as a member of its Board of Directors.

As a founding member of KETHEA – the nationwide Therapy Center for Dependent individuals she worked (1983 to 1995) in positions of responsibility for treatment and prevention programs. In 1992 she created the therapeutic community, “Nostos”.

Panagiota Pavlopoulou is a psychiatrist, psychotherapist and family therapist. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens and completed her specialty in the psychiatric clinic of Evangelismos Hospital of Athens.

She has been trained in AKMA in the Systemic approach and Family Therapy.

Nikos Spiliopoulos, Family & Couple Psychotherapist  & Addiction Counsellor  MSc, ICADC, ECP

Nikos Spiliopoulos has been Counsellor at KETHEA, from 1994 to 2014, responsible for the establishment and the subsequent operation (2002-2014), of the Outpatient Therapeutic Program for  Adolescents – Young Adults  Substance Abusers and Their Families, KETHEA OXYGENO, in Patras.

He has been trained in AKMA in Systemic Approaches and Family and Couple Therapy and trained in Family Therapy in Addictions treatment field

He has received an MSc in Clinical Aspects of Addiction and Public Health from the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College, University of London. Nikos is certified Addiction Counselor from the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC & RC).

He is a member of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA), a member of the Hellenic Society for Systemic Therapy (ELESYTH) and a certified psychotherapist  ECP, from the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP).

Nikos gained long professional experience working with individuals and families trying to overcome serious and life-threatening complex problems, exploring the fundamental role of the functional relationships and security bonds in the human existence and development.

Moved by personal and professional interest, he found in EFT Method the understanding and the means to deal and reform the unique balance of autonomy and functional interdependence in life. Within the framework of his personal development process and his collaboration with Athenian Institute of Anthropos (AKMA), he is involved in the creation of the Greek Network for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Currently, he works privately.
